This mix of educated business professionals, web savvy sales teams and experienced performance designers has created a force to be reckoned with in the theater and fashion industry. Providing unique design insights and superior service to a national industry has become the focal point of this central New England Company.
The brainchild of company president Eric Baird and CEO Charles Morley This pair engaged the best when it comes to theater costumes and decorated clothing (also known as performance merchandise). Combining several smaller companies into one was meant to be. “The goal here was to provide a new approach in not only customer service, but in the way the entire process happened.” says Baird. “Drawing from a pool of very experienced designers and using practical business techniques is really paying off.” With over twenty years experience in all aspects of the performance business Baird is now settling in for the long haul when it comes to the new company. “This is a combined effort of many individuals and smaller companies all rolled into one. We were doing just fine on our own working as independents for smaller organizations as well as national touring companies, but now we have the power of smart investors and highly experienced personnel. Our goal is to never lose sight of the little guy, but to be able to service all of our customers nationwide with the same respect and fast response.” says Baird.
Atlantic Coast Theatrical Supply also designs entire clothing lines for various customers in the retail market. A.C.T.S. has recently moved into a new larger industrial facility to keep up with the company’s growth. With brand new design studios and the capacity to warehouse and manufacture Baird and his crew will be soon be unstoppable.
Located in the second largest city in central Massachusetts, A.C.T.S. is in high demand when it comes to really putting on a great show. Recently they have grown to be the leader in costume rentals nationwide for Disney’s ever popular “High School Musical”. Providing the same exact clothing and accessories used in the movie is one of their many specialties. “We can’t keep them in stock. We rent entire productions all across the US and Canada for High School Musical. As soon as we get them back, cleaned, and reset they go right back out the door!” says Baird. Currently the company is booked solid with requests from drama groups and theaters from coast to coast. Schools and theaters in such locations as Keokuk, Iowa, Long Island, New York, Nova Scotia, Canada, and many more have all relied on A.C.T.S. to provide top notch service. One look at the quality of the uniforms and it’s no wonder why they are booked all the time. These uniforms are so close to the originals, that one can compare them directly to the video and that’s really the best selling point. The company rents several sets weekly and bookings are taken months in advance. Other large Broadway style musical clothing and costume sets are also rapidly becoming popular. The company is currently in the process of manufacturing the huge costume set for the Broadway smash hit “The Producers”.
